In a way, the plot is an independent version of the movie “3 Men and a Baby” (1987, director: Leonard Nimoy); which in turn was based on another installment. Back then the three bachelor friends were portrayed on the big screen by Tom Selleck, Steve Guttenberg and Ted Danson.
This time around the plot comes in form of an ABC Family Original Comedy. The “three muskeeters” in this half-hour television series are played by Jean-Luc Bilodeau (“Ben”), Tahj Mowry (“best buddy Tucker”) and Derek Theler (“brother Danny”). The friends also have the support of Melissa Peterman (“Ben’s mother, Bonnie”) and Chelsea Kane (“childhood friend, Riley”).
It’s a hard working crew and charming and seasoned cast, The delivery is strong and the script clever. The writers have a keen sense of detail and penchant for comic book storytelling. There are both funny moments and hilarious ROFL*-moments.
The series is helmed by executive producer Dan Berendsen (whose credits include The Nine Lives of Chloe King, Sabrina the Teenage Witch, and Hannah Montana The Movie).
